It is noteworthy that attracting and involving young personnel in scientific and research activities is one of the priorities of the Caucasus International University. The grant funding system developed by the University since 2018 includes conditions adapted to them, as well as support and encouragement mechanisms, namely:
1. In the framework of the University's fundamental research grants and small scientific grants competition, it is mandatory to include young researchers from the University in the key staff
of the project - at least one student with an active status of Bachelor's, Master's, Residency, or PhD. It is also possible to include a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD graduate of the University whose
academic degree has been awarded for no more than 7 years to the date of the announcement of the competition.
2. Support and co-funding of initiatives of young scientists/researchers to attract scientific grants from various international and local funds - affiliated academic staff of the Caucasus International University guide/mentor CIU students and graduates who are trying to obtain funding from various donor organizations for the implementation of scientific projects. Supervision of the preparation of students' scientific projects by academic staff is encouraged by the scientific award.
3. Scientific Award for Young Scientists - Tamar On 2017, the Caucasus International University established the Scientific Award “Tamar”, which is given once every two years. As per the Competition conditions, the University awards one young scientist.
4. Annual international scientific conference of undergraduate, Master's and PhD students - The University annually organizes student scientific conference, as result of which students have the
opportunity to work on research projects together with academic personnel as their supervisors. On the one hand, the conference is aimed at increasing students' research skills and their interest
in scientific careers and on the other hand, it promotes knowledge transfer and popularization of science among students.
5. The strategic and action plans for 2024 and 2025-2027, in accordance with research priorities, define complex activities aimed to support the career advancement of PhD Research Supervisors and PhD students, which include: creation of guidelines for scientific supervisors; to provide a cycle of trainings for the University academic staff on research supervision; To create the mechanisms of the Post-Doc system and to create a guiding document for the individual career development plan for researchers, for Scientific Supervisors and PhD candidates
