The scientific prize “Tamar” was founded at the Caucasus International University in 2017. The prize is awarded to scientists working at the university once every two years on the basis of scientific activities as the result of the competition.
The King Tamar Science Prize has been an incentive for scientists working at Caucasus International University for many years, promoting their research and other scientific activities.
The scientific prize "Tamar" awarding ceremony organized by Caucasus International University was held three times:
May 3, 2022 - The third award ceremony of Caucasus International University (CIU) scientific prize Tamar was held at the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia.
The winners were awarded cash prizes (3000/3000 GEL for outstanding contributions to the development of the scientific field to both contestants, I Prize - 3000 GEL, II Prize - 2000 GEL, III Prize - 1500 GEL, IV Prize - 1000 GEL for a young scientist) and golden medals made by company “Zarapkhana”.
I prize - Davit Maghradze, Academic Doctor of Agrarian Science, Deputy Dean in the Direction of Science, Co-Supervisor of the Undergraduate Program in Viticulture and Winemaking;
II prize - Sophio Kasradze, Academic Doctor of Medicine, Caucasus International University Associate Professor;
III prize - Vakhtang Maisaia, Doctor of Political Science, Professor, Supervisor of Postgraduate Program in International Relations and International Security.
IV prize “young scientist” - Tamta Tsirkvadze, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law, PhD student.
The award for outstanding contribution to the development of the scientific field (constitutionalism) was given to Academician Mindia Ugrekhelidze and Associate Professor Beka Kantaria.

28 February, 2020 - The second award ceremony of Caucasus International University (CIU) scientific prize Tamar was held at the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia.
The prize winners were selected from 32 candidates who had active scientific activities in 2018-2019.
I, II and III prize winners were named at the event and they were awarded 3000, 2000 and 1000 GEL respectively. In addition, they received special medals made by the company “Zarapkhana”.

II prize - Zakaria Nanobashvili, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Caucasus International University Professor;

December 27, 2017 - თhe first award ceremony of Caucasus International University (CIU) scientific prize Tamar was held at the Courtyard Marriott Ball Room.
From 29 scientists registered for the scientific award “Tamar”, the winners have been revealed by the committee in accordance to strict criteria and evaluation system.

The scientific prize was named after Georgian King Tamar, the implementer of the progressive and humane policy in the Caucasus, and the patron of intellectuals and artists. The mentioned initiative was implemented with the blessing of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II.
The scientific prize, founded in 2017, is awarded to successful scholars at Caucasus International University, who are distinguished by their activeness, scientific papers, international projects, and publications.
