Within the framework of the Festival of Science and Innovation - 2018, on September 28, a master class in wine tasting initiated and organized by Caucasus International University was held in wine cellar "Kolkhi".
The master class was conducted by Saba Kitiashvili, Master of Agricultural Sciences, graduate of the Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking, Member of State Tasting Commission of National Wine Agency and International Class Sommelier (WSET second level).
It should be noted that the historical overview of the development of viticulture and winemaking in Georgia was also made by a graduate of CIU Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking – Shengeli Kikilashvili.
The organoleptic assessment of wine along with the physical and chemical indicators is one of the most important processes of determining the quality of the wine. Saba Kitiashvili talked about the origin of the aromas, taste quality of wine, the perfection limits, the environmental requirements for tasting, proper wine characteristic and wine evaluation sequence.
The Festival of Science and Innovation organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia has been held since 2015. Caucasus International University is actively involved in this year's festival, which started on September 22 and will last until October 1.
